Do you or someone you love suffer from nighttime bladder control or incontinence?

If so, chiropractic care may be the solution you have been searching for.

Evidence Suggests Chiropractic Care Can Help

Aclinical studywas performed on 13 patients who were, on average, around 65 years old. This study showed that after 1 to 8 weeks of chiropractic adjustments, the urgency to urinate dropped from 3.8 times per night to only 1.2 times per night.

During the study, bladder control was reported by the patients as the number of times they had to get up during the night to use the bathroom or the instances of leakage, along with the number of pad changes needed per day or the sensation of feeling the urge to urinate during the night. These patients were only seen by a chiropractor and had no other interventional treatment during the study. Three patients even showed improvement in their bladder control after only two visits and adjustments with a chiropractor.

Why It Can Help

Chiropractic care could be a viable option for bladder control treatments because night-time bladder control problems often are due to subluxations or misalignments of the vertebrae in the lumbar spine or the sacrum.  A chiropractic adjustment can correct the subluxations and align the spine, allowing the bladder to receive the correct amount of nervous system input and ensure the bladder can function better.
