For the last 12 years people have been telling me  “I need to hire you”.  I also get a lot of questions about diets, exercises, cardio, and the latest infomercial.    I love answering questions about latest trends and fads in fitness.  The latest thing in fitness is online training.  It’s affordable and convenient and s now you can all have your own personal trainer!

I won’t lie,  in person personal training is expensive, it is an investment in your health.  It is like taking a college class. If the class is good and you go, the teacher is good at teaching and you are committed to doing your work outside of class you should complete the semester knowing that information for the rest of your life.  That is exactly true for personal training.  You have to show up, you have to do your  workouts outside your sessions and play an active roll in learning.  You do those things with a good trainer and you will walk away with a better understanding of your body and your health and fitness.

Many college classes are now taught online and now personal training can be online too.  While online college classes still cost the same per credit hour, online personal training is considerably less expensive and with online training you no longer have to match your schedule with your trainers schedule. If you have worked with a great trainer in the past you know how hard it can be to get the time slot you want.

The workouts are customized to you and your goals and abilities.  This is not like picking a workout out of popular fitness magazines you pick up while in line at the grocery check out.  You will actually meet with your trainer before you start your program.  YOU are a real person not just an email address. Your trainer will asses your current fitness level, muscle imbalances and mobility before designing a program for you.

You and your trainer together will decide your resistance training program, your cardio training program and flexibility program.You let your trainer know what equipment you have available, if you workout at home or a gym or want to do some of both. You tell your trainer what days you commit to workout and your workout will be in your inbox and on your calendar waiting for you. Your workout will tell you how many reps, how many sets, what order and even show short videos of the exercises.  If you have a smart phone you can use it to follow along and record what weight and reps you actually did and leave notes for your trainer about how the workout felt.  The more information you record the better idea your trainer has in knowing how to progress you.

Once a week you and your trainer will communicate thru email.  You can even have your trainer monitor your diet  and make recommendations on that as well.
