Physical Therapist Demonstrates Hip Exercise

Hi. My name is Piotr, and I would like to present the exercise that will help us to learn how to stabilize the lower back during hip movement. We have a tendency to overuse the lower back during hip movement which is causing strain in the lower back muscles and in effect a lot of troubles.

So for this exercises we’ll do the donkey kick. Laurie, I want you to position yourself on the floor on your hands and knees. And the movement will be that she will raise one leg, bend without using her lower back.

During this exercise the patient tries to stabilize the torso. To show the patient, that either he is using or not using the lower back, we put the roll on the back, and now we ask him to perform this exercise. This tool automatically gives the feedback to the patient if they are doing it correctly or incorrectly.

Right now, I would like to present an incorrect form of this exercises. You can see how she engages her torso and dipping lower back during movement. And let’s do it correctly again. Thank you.
