When getting a massage your cells release toxins at a faster rate than normal. The fluid from cells in our muscles travel to lymph system where it is dealt with. Lymph system is second line of defense from viruses and bacteria, etc. The body has to deal with this faster rate of toxin release within the same amount of time, which can cause some people to feel tired, sick, and sore after a massage.

When receiving a massage fascia is being restored to normal shape causing fluid and waste that our system has to deal with it right away. Hydration is very important to help with the process of this release. Very important to drink lots of water to stay hydrated.

Massage releases chemicals within body which brings out toxins from the muscles. Nerys Purchon author of “The essential natural health bible”, explains that massage helps your body rid itself of waste and toxic substances by assisting you blood to move throughout your body. Signals in body are sent to the area that is being massaged and throughout the entire body during soft tissue massage. Which toxins, are released again to the lymphatic system, and provide health benefits.

There are different kinds of specific massages that can aid in the release of toxins. Some of which are lymphatic massage, aromatherapy, and detox massage.
Lymphatic massage is a gentle, relaxing form of massage that helps the body’s lymphatic system get moving again while reinforcing immune function. Lymph massage gets a wakeup call through gentle means. It is very slow and light in pressure to mimic the pulse and rhythm of the Lymphatic system, and gets the vessels to respond as they should. Each stroke moves the skin in the direction of lymphatic flow to encourage the drainage of fluid and waste. Depending on what a person’s complaints are the lymph massage is for general immune stimulation such as upper body, face, neck, and arms. After Lymph massage lots of water is very important as things get moving again. Lymph massage is also a good treatment for edema (swelling) inflammation or recent injury. It can also helpful with sinus conditions and general congestion. It helps to reduce scar tissue and stimulate circulation and production of white blood cells.

The detox massage is using different types of essential oils on body and muscles. Some of these oils are Lavender, Mandarin, Rosemary, Peppermint, Balance, Basil, and Time. With the detox massage the different oils help in detoxing the body. Peppermint oil can sooth digestive system peppermint can be mixed with different oils for a detoxifying blend.
